Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know — split into questions from people looking for a provider, and questions from providers themselves.

Participants, families, and support coordinators

Is findmyprovider free to use?
Yes — completely free for participants, families, and support coordinators looking for providers. No sign-up, no fees, no payment details required.
How do I search?
Type your suburb or postcode, pick a support category (e.g. Behaviour Support, SIL, Plan Management), and hit search. We show you providers in your area along with their NDIS registration status where we have it.
Are all the listed providers NDIS-registered?
No — and that's a good thing. Some are registered, some aren't. Registered providers show a green "NDIS registered" badge sourced directly from the NDIS Commission's public register. Unregistered providers can still be a great fit, especially for self-managed and plan-managed plans.
What's a "Sponsored" listing?
A sponsored listing is a provider who pays a monthly fee to appear at the top of search results for the regions they service. They're always clearly labelled with a gold "★ Sponsored" pill so you can tell at a glance. Sponsorship doesn't change anything about the provider's NDIS status — it just means they've chosen to be more visible in your area.
Where does your information come from?
Three sources: the NDIS Commission's public provider register (refreshed regularly), Google Places listings (for contact details and locations), and provider-managed profiles (for sponsored providers, who write their own About sections and choose what categories to appear under).
Can I leave reviews?
Not yet. Reviews are something we're thinking carefully about — the disability sector deserves better than the typical review-bombing you see on other platforms. If we add them, it'll be in a way that's fair to both participants and providers.
I can't find a provider I know exists — what do I do?
Get in touch and let us know. The NDIS register doesn't catch every provider (especially newer or unregistered ones), and Google Places coverage can be patchy outside major cities. We'll look into adding them.
Is my search private?
Yes. We don't track who you are or build profiles on you. Basic anonymous analytics (page views, popular searches) help us improve the site, but we don't share or sell anything.

For providers

NDIS providers thinking about listing or sponsoring

Why should I sign up?
Two reasons. First, to claim your existing listing and add details participants actually want — your About section, contact info, logo, and the categories you offer. Second, to sponsor your listing in the regions you service, so you appear at the top of local search results when participants are looking.
Do I need to be NDIS-registered?
No. Both registered and unregistered providers can sign up and sponsor listings. If you are NDIS-registered, we'll pull your details from the public register and show a green tick badge on your profile automatically.
What does sponsorship cost?
Pricing is per LGA (Local Government Area), billed monthly: • 1 LGA — $29.95/month • 2 LGAs — $59.95/month • 3 or more LGAs — $99.95/month (unlimited LGAs at this price) All prices in AUD. You can pay one-off or set it up to auto-renew.
What's an LGA?
Local Government Area — basically your council region. Sydney has about 35 of them, Brisbane is one big LGA. We use them because they line up with how participants actually think about location ("the Inner West", "Northern Beaches") much better than postcodes do. When someone searches a suburb, we look up which LGA(s) cover that postcode and show sponsors from those LGAs.
Auto-renew vs one-off — which should I pick?
Auto-renew bills you every 30 days via Stripe and keeps your listing live indefinitely (cancel any time). Best if you want to set and forget. One-off is a single 30-day payment with no recurring charge — good for testing the waters.
How long until my listing goes live after I pay?
Usually within a minute. Stripe sends us payment confirmation, we activate your listing, and you'll see it on your account page and in search results immediately.
Can I edit my listing later?
Yes — your account page lets you change your logo, About section, contact details, categories you offer, and add or remove regions any time. Changes go live straight away.
What happens if more than 8 providers want to sponsor the same LGA?
We cap each LGA at 8 sponsored slots so the top of search isn't drowning in ads. If demand for an area exceeds capacity we'll let you know and rotate slots fairly. Today this isn't an issue anywhere in Australia, but it's the policy.
Do you take a cut of leads?
No. Sponsorship is a flat monthly fee, full stop. Phone calls, emails, and enquiries that come from the platform go directly to you — we don't sit in the middle, we don't track per-lead, and we don't charge for them.
How do I cancel?
For now, get in touch and we'll cancel your subscription in Stripe immediately (no fees, no notice period). A self-serve cancel button is coming soon.
Can I sponsor multiple categories in the same region?
Yes — when you create your profile you pick all the categories you offer (Behaviour Support, SIL, Plan Management, etc). Your sponsored listing appears at the top of search results for any of those categories in your sponsored LGAs.
Is the ABN check just a name match?
No. We only check that the ABN you enter exists on the Australian Business Register and is currently Active. We don't compare the ABN's registered name to your organisation name, because lots of providers trade under a different name to their ABN-registered entity.
